Driver passes semi, collides head-on with Reno driver
Understanding the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of deadly car accidents can help give everyone more information about these accidents occur. Most importantly, it can help prevent car accidents that result in death and serious injuries from ever occurring in the first place. For those Reno residents unlucky enough to be involved in such car accidents, serious consequences can result. Such was the case for a Reno man who recently lost his life in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
The deadly car accident played out on U.S. Highway 95. A driver heading northbound on Highway 95 made the decision to pass a semi-truck on the two-lane highway. This caused the Corolla to enter the southbound lane where it collided head-on with the southbound driving Mini Cooper. The driver of the Mini-Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The Nevada Highway Patrol recorded this accident as the 27th fatal car accident on Nevada roads this year. According to the NHP, the accident happened because of the Corolla’s decision to pass the semi-truck on the two-lane highway. There has been no word if charges will be filed against the driver of the Corolla. Driving safely and with patience is the best way to prevent these type of car accidents from occurring on Reno roads.
The young man who lost his life in the blink of an eye certainly has much that he left behind. Family and friends will mourn a life cut short. It is a great reminder for all Nevadans to remember to drive cautiously in order to preserve the health and lives of everyone on the road. People who have suffered from serious or deadly car accidents, may have the right to seek compensation in a civil suit.
