Head-on collision leads to injuries in Las Vegas

Most car accident s fall into one of only a few different categories. For example, rear-end accidents are very common. However, other types of car accidents do happen. For this reason, it is important to be aware of all types of car accident situations that can occur.

Emergency vehicles were called to the scene of Rainbow and Tropicana in Las Vegas last week. Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. According to reports, a Volkswagen was driving south on Rainbow when a Hyundai Santa Fe crossed over the median into the southbound lane, striking the Volkswagen head-on. The accident caused significant damage to both vehicles and left both drivers with injuries.

This incident is currently under investigation by authorities and to date, no charges have been filed or citations reported. However, this incident and others like this, are usually a result of negligence on the part of one or both drivers. If reports are correct, the driver who left their lane and swerved into another may very well be held accountable for the accident. Any lawsuits or charges that may be filed against that driver will likely be filed on the basis of negligence.

This accident happened in the blink of an eye. One minute the Volkswagen was cruising along Rainbow, and the next, she had collided head on with another vehicle. More than likely, she wasn’t expecting what happened. It isn’t known if this accident could have been avoided, but if other drivers are driving with awareness it is possible that they could prevent this type of accident from happening. This could be done by preventing a driver from swerving into the oncoming lane, or by the second driver swerving out of the way of the other vehicle’s path at the last second.
